What's Nequi
My Role as a Designer
Nequi is a Colombia-based Fintech that was first created by Bancolombia, one of the biggest banks in the country, to provide a fully digital banking experience to users. Even though Nequi is owned by Bancolombia, it is completely independent and users can open an account without being affiliated to the big bank. Today it also operates in Panama.
It was created with the idea of being a tool to avoid old procedures and break with traditional schemes, contributing to democratize the use of finances by being for free.
Nequi is also a collaborative platform that has introduced different products and services to its own marketplace, so people can centralize their payments and make of Nequi an everyday tool and a partner in their travel to manage their money.
As the lead of UX Research, I focused on the structure and application of user center research based on different methodologies, tools and techniques from social sciences and design thinking to uncover different opportunities and day to day challenges, analyzing real-life phenomena in order to furnish detailed facts. I collected primary and secondary data from interviews, focus groups, diary studies, user knowledge through Nequi's data bases, user suggestions through Nequi's channels and more.
As a UX Designer I was in charge of the design, prototype and testing digital products and services of economic and social impact, applying methodologies of design thinking, social sciences and the relationship with stakeholders to define the scope and MVPs.
